Mercy Ships Update – 6/19/12
Vibert LaMaison reports an update on Mercy Ships via the latest email from Jennifer McGowan.
It was wonderful to speak with you on the phone on Wednesday. Like I mentioned, we’ve wrapped up one field service and we’re on our way to the Canary Islands for some routine maintenance, repairs, and to make sure the Africa Mercy is all ready for our next field service in Guinea! It’s a busy time for us, as we we’re resupplying and preparing for 10 months in Guinea, but it was wonderful to take a break and talk to you on the phone.
I’ve attached a small needs lists to this email. Right now, we could really use some adult and children’s toothbrushes! If you could fulfill this small request, we’d be hugely grateful! I know it seems small, but as we’re spending the summer planning and preparing, we’re realizing this huge need for start-up in Guinea.
Here’s a link to a short video about the educational part of our Dental program where you can see these toothbrushes in action! This is only one place where the toothbrushes will be used.
Thank you, again, for being so willing to partner with us to meet the needs of the World’s forgotten poor. As mentioned on the phone, we will have a big need for school supplies in August and I’ll be sending another detailed list once we know exactly what we’ll need.
Also, I know you were asking for some more information and DVDs about Mercy Ships and I wanted to let you know that we have a big info packet headed your way with a few visual goodies. I’ll be in contact with you with some more information and a couple of questions in the next couple of weeks.
Peace and Blessings,
Mercy ships is looking for 200 adult toothbrushes, 100 toothbrushes for children (No Disney related items, please). If you can help, please contact Vibert or bring your items to the office.
